Historic Flooding Causes 28 Deaths In Kentucky
 According to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, at least 28 people have died due to the flooding caused by excessive rain starting last week. Governor Beshear has also warned that the death toll will raise. Rescuers looking for the missing have been hindered by the destruction left behind since they are unable to reach places cut off after floodwater washed away bridges and flooded neighborhoods. The National Weather Service reports that there is still a tiny chance of extreme rain in the area on Monday, and there may be a few localized flash floods. Additional rain might cause greater floods because the ground is already wet. The immediate priority for state officials is providing food, water, and shelter to those who were pushed to evacuate their homes. As of early Monday, around 10,000 people in the state’s east were still without electricity. |
